  • Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music 3775 Central Avenue Memphis, TN, 38111 United States (map)

SAVE THE DATE!

Following a successful inaugural year with over 50 submissions and 22 new works for clarinet by composers across the globe, the Evan Erickson Music “2022 Call for Scores" was kicked up a notch for its second year to present even better opportunities for the winning composers. The Magnolia Woodwind Quintet will be presenting several world premieres for this concert for the composers to hear their music performed live (with bonus prizes including a small cash prize and a studio recording of the works). These works are drawn exclusively from composers who have not managed to hear more than 5 of their pieces ever performed.

The Magnolia Woodwind Quintet features Mackenzie Saylors on flute, Jalen Gales on oboe, Evan Erickson on clarinet, Madeline Miller on horn and Jacob Bridges on bassoon.

Featured Composers Include:

  • Alec Schantz, Winner of 2022 Call for Scores

  • Ted Shapiro, Winner of 2022 Call for Scores

  • Samreet Juneja, Winner of 2022 Call for Scores

  • John Heiss

The concert will take place in Harris Concert Hall at the University of Memphis on Saturday, April 22nd, 2023 at 2:00pm CST!
