A recital featuring the seven chosen composers from the “Erickson’s New Music 2021 Call For Scores.” All pieces will be receiving a world premiere and will be one of the first times these unrecognized composers are hearing one of their works played by a real instrument. Winning composers received a cash prize, which was crowdfunded by Evan, and a guaranteed performance + recording of their works. More details can be read in the “Call for Scores” section of Evan’s website, but an amazing 52 accepted entries from across the country were submitted, with 21 of these being newly composed works just for this competition.
Event will be held in Harris Hall at the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music on the University of Memphis campus.
